Burke earns MASCAC rookie of the week honors in Women's Basketball

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year guard Emily Burke (Voorheesville, NY) has been named the MASCAC rookie of the week.  Burke becomes the second Trailblazer to be honored this season as Courtney Pingelski was the league's player of the week just seven days ago.

The conference's player of the week for November 26th was Kia Fernandes of Salem State.

Burke was a catalyst in MCLA's convincing win over Mount Holyoke last Tuesday.  Burke scored 11 points in helping the Trailblazers win their third straight contest after dropping the season opener to Springfield.  The guard, who earned her first career start, added three rebounds and 3 steals in the win over the Lyons.

Burke's teammate, Kylah Langston, was named the MASCAC honor roll after leading MCLA with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals.

The Trailblazers seek their fourth straight win tomorrow night when they host Middlebury at 6pm in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.
