Women's Basketball beaten on the road at Bridgewater State

Bridgewater, MA- Bridgewater State's Kailyn Aguiar scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Bears to a convincing 80-37 win over the MCLA Trailblazers.  The Bears improve to 9-11 overall and are 4-3 in the MASCAC.

MCLA drops to 4-15 overall and is 0-8 in the conference.

The Bears imposed themselves early in this one as they led 18-13 after one quarter and then 37-27 at the half.  Bridgewater began to pull away on the heels of a 22-6 advantage in the third quarter.  Sara DaSilva and Aguiar each collected six points in the quarter as the Bears took advantage of 12 MCLA turnovers in the quarter.

Bridgewater coasted home in the fourth and cruised to victory.  The Bears defense held MCLA to 3-20 shooting over the final twenty minutes of action.  The Bears pressure defense also initiated 18 turnovers during that span.

Aguiar ended the game going 9-15 from the floor.  Of her 12 boards, 8 of them came on the offensive end.  Olivia DelGrosso notched 12 points for the Bears.  Every member of the Bears roster broke into the scoring column.

BSU owned a commanding 38-9 advantage in points off turnovers as well as holding a 48-29 edge off the glass.

MCLA was paced by L'Rae Brundige's team best 11 point night.  Karina Mattera ended with 10 points in the loss.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they host Worcester State at 1pm.
