Williamstown, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers scored the only five goals in overtime as they pushed past the Sage Gators 18-13 this afternoon in a match played at Williams College.  With the win, the Trailblazers even their mark at 2-2 while Sage drops to 0-3.

Natalie Caney and Katelyn Brown combined to score 12 goals for MCLA with Caney netting a game high 7.  She also scored the eventual game winning marker in overtime.

The game started off fast as each team got on the board early and often.  Just ten minutes in Sage led 4-2 however MCLA would rally and when Caney scored in the final minute the two teams went into halftime tied at 6-6.

MCLA opened up a pair of two goal leads in the second half, however they couldn't finish off the Gators.  In fact, Sage came back to grab a 13-12 lead with 1:53 to play on Monica Koralus' goal.  The Trailblazers would answer immediately when Mackenzie Cutler would convert an Erin McNulty pass just 16 seconds later sending the game into overtime.

MCLA controlled the overtime as Caney won the draw and sprinted right towards the Gator net and her shot just 12 seconds into overtime gave MCLA a lead it would not relinquish.  Brown would tally just a minute later and then Caney fired home her final marker securing the victory for MCLA.

The strong overtime made a winner out of Alexandra David in net for MCLA as she stopped 10 shots.  Her counterpart, Jackie St. Pierre collected 11 saves in a losing effort.

MCLA held a 23-11 edge in ground balls, including a 13-7 edge over the final 36:00.

The Trailblazers will look to get over the .500 mark on Saturday when they battle Mass. Maritime in the MASCAC opener for both teams.
