Lacrosse beaten by Fitchburg State 19-1 in MASCAC play

Fitchburg, MA- The Fitchburg State Falcons jumped out to a 12-0 halftime lead over MCLA and never looked back as they handed the Trailblazers a 19-1 setback in a MASCAC match played this evening.  With the win, the Falcons 13-4 overall and are 6-1 in the league.  MCLA is now 3-10 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Kayla Panek scored 4 goals and added 4 assists for 8 points to lead the Falcons.  Andrea Comeau added 3 markers while Ali Laferriere, Sarah Mallahan, and Jaimee Lutz added two apiece.

The Falcons wasted little time in taking control.  Just seven minutes in they led 5-0 and their defense didn't allow much for the Trailblazers.  FSU would hold a 24-1 shot edge in the first half en route to the insurmountable 12-0 lead.  

Fitchburg didn't allow MCLA on the board until the 48th minute when Mackenzie Cutler found the back of the net for the lone goal.

Liz Darrego earned the win stopping one shot.

Zoe Elwell collected 20 saves, however the Trailblazers allowed 42 shots in the contest.

MCLA wraps up their season on Saturday when they host Salem State at 1pm at Shewcraft Field.
