Caney named second team All MASCAC in Lacrosse

2016 All MASCAC Lacrosse Team

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Natalie Caney was recognized this afternoon by the MASCAC as she was named to the second team following a vote of the league's coaching staff.  The honor marks the first for Caney in Lacrosse as the two sport standout has been recognized in soccer all three seasons for MCLA.

Bridgewater State's Lauren Geary was named the MASCAC player of the year and teammate Elizabeth Ettridge was the conference's top rookie.  Westfield State's Jeff Pechulis was selected by his peers as the MASCAC coach of the year.

Caney, a Belchertown, MA. native, led the Trailblazers in goals (33), assists (10), and points (43).  She was the top offensive threat for MCLA in 2016.  Fifteen of Caney's goals came in conference play as she ranked 14th in the league scoring race.  She scored a season high five goals in win over Johnson State while adding four markers against Bridgewater State and Salem State.  

The Trailblazers finished the season at 3-11.
