Women's Soccer suffers defeat at Utica

Utica, NY- Utica's Mikayla Blumenstock scored four goals as the Pioneers breezed past the visiting MCLA Trailblazers 5-0 this evening in non conference action.  Utica improves to 9-5-1 win the win.  MCLA drops to 2-14-1 overall.

Blumenstock scored all four of her goals in the opening half.  She would score unassisted in the 19th minute for a quick 1-0 advantage.  Four minutes later, she would connect again.  This time Sydney Cook assisted and it was 2-0.

In the 33rd minute, Blumenstock once again beat MCLA's Megan Richardson and it was 3-0.  Her and Cook would team up again in the 36th minute to increase the margin to 4-0.  Avery Crossley would round out the first half scoring as she connected off another Cook feed to make it 5-0.  Cook ended with four assists on the night.

Utica would be held off the scoreboard in the second half, but the damage was already done. 

Richardson stopped 7 shots for MCLA in the loss.  She now has 581 saves in her career with one game left to play.  

Utica outshot MCLA 22-8 in the contest.  Allison Wagner earned the shutout win stopping three shots.

The Trailblazers wrap up the 2019 season with a home matchup with Framingham State on Saturday at Noon.  The match will also be Senior Day for MCLA.
