Tennis snags NAC win over NVU-Johnson 7-2

Johnson, VT- The MCLA women's tennis team swept through doubles play on their way to recording a 7-2 North Atlantic Conference win over NVU-Johnson this afternoon.  The Trailblazers improve their mark to 4-4 overall and sit at 3-2 in the league.

The Trailblazers top duo of Briana Higgins and Mackenna Jordan earned a hard fought 8-7 win in doubles.  Jessica Dupont and Alyssa Keegan took the second doubles match 8-4 to make it 2-0 in favor of MCLA.  When McKenna Clark and Sam Schwantner won 8-6, MCLA had swept the doubles matches.

In singles, Johnson would earn points at the first and sixth slots for their lone points of the afternoon.  MCLA would get their final points from Higgins, Jordan, Clark, and Keegan.  All of those matches were final in straight sets.

MCLA is back in action tomorrow when they wrap up NAC play with a matchup with Lyndon at noon.
