Volleyball drops a pair to close out Hartwick tournament, Clark makes All Tourney Team
Oneonta, NY- The MCLA Volleyball team dropped a pair of games to close out the Hartwick tournament this afternoon. MCLA fell to Hartwick 3-1 in the opener while losing a five setter 3-2 to Morrisville State. The Trailblazers are now 14-6 on the season.
MCLA's Allison Clark was named to the All Tournament team.
In the opener against Hartwick, MCLA dropped the first set 25-22 before winning the second 25-20. The Hawks would then close out the Trailblazers by winning 25-17 and 25-18 to secure the win.
MCLA was paced on offense by Allison Clark's 8 kills. She added 10 digs as well. Chanielle Enomoto led the defense with 16 digs while Brittney Pihl had 13 off the bench. Courtney Parent finished with 8 assists and 10 digs to go along with 8 service aces.
Hartwick was led by Rosa Maun's 11 kills on 26 attacks. Quincy Kinzel had 29 assists.
The late game was a rematch from earlier in the season in which the Trailblazers won. This time, Morrisville was up to the task and won a hard fought 3-2 decision. MCLA won the first set at 25-17, but then dropped a difficult 28-26 decision in the second to square the match.
Morrisville would win the third at 25-14 to take a 2-1 lead. MCLA would keep fighting though and eventually pulled out a 33-31 win in game four sending the match to a deciding fifth set. Morrisville would eventually win the match by virtue of their 15-12 fifth set win.
Clark once again led MCLA with 15 kills and 11 digs. Angelica Perfido ended with 8 kills and 22 digs. Beatrice Lechler added 26 assists and Enomoto had 19 digs.
MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Lyndon State.
