Volleyball completes Tri Match sweep with win over Castleton
Longmeadow, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team needed a pair of wins on Saturday and they got it in the form of a sweep of Bay Path and Castleton. The Trailblazers won both matches by scores of 3-0.
In the nightcap against Castleton, MCLA won by set scores of 25-6, 25-15, and 25-14.
Sara LaFreniere paced the offense with a season best 8 kills on 14 attacks for a solid hitting percentage of .357. Maggie Allen added 4 kills for MCLA. Natasha Stewart had her best game of her young career with 13 assists.
Pacing the defense was Mackenna Jordan with 7 digs. Tessa Sestito added 5 aces in the win.
MCLA will open conference play on Tuesday night when they travel to defending champion Framingham State in a rematch of last years title game. The Rams and Trailblazers have met the last two seasons in the MASCAC title clash.
