Volleyball drops a pair at Tri Match

Keene, NH- The MCLA Volleyball program traveled up to Keene State University this afternoon for a tri-match with the hosts and Rhode Island College.  The Trailblazers fell to the Owls 3-0 in the nightcap while dropping a 3-1 decision to the Anchorwomen in the opener.  MCLA drops to 8-17 on the season with the setbacks.

In the opener against RIC, MCLA dropped the first set 25-20 before claiming the second set with a 27-25 win.  RIC would take the final two sets 25-18 and 25-17 to close out the match.

MCLA was paced by Sara LaFreniere in the opener as she collected 10 kills.  Brooke Queripel added 9 kills while Mele Enomoto led the defense with 23 digs.  

The Trailblazers were hampered by 29 attack errors on the afternoon.

RIC was led by Courtney Lambrese's game high 20 kills.

In the nightcap, the Owls proved too much for the Trailblazers.  They won by set scores of 25-8, 25-7, and 25-12 to claim the match.  Keene also defeated RIC earlier in the day to complete the sweep.

LaFreniere paced MCLA with 4 kills in the nightcap.

Keene was led by Rachel Lamica's 15 kills.

MCLA will be back in action on Tuesday night when they host Cobleskill at 7pm in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.
