Volleyball falls to Southern Vermont 3-0 in non league action

North Adams, MA- Liv Sowles notched a double double of 13 kills and 11 digs to lead the Southern Vermont Volleyball program to a 3-0 road win over the MCLA Trailblazers in the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium.  The Mountaineers improve to 12-2 ahead of tomorrow's NECC match with Mitchell.  The Trailblazers drop to 6-9 on the season.

SVC won the first set 25-20 as Sowles made her presence felt early with 7 kills in the opener.  The visitors would take the second set 25-21 and then close out the Trailblazers with a 25-19 win in the third set.

Sowles was outstanding notching her 13 kills on 47 attacks.  She wasn't the only Mountaineer effective on offense however.  Nikki Ramirez and Meg Maddalena each ended with 8 kills and Taryn Higareda came off the bench for a match best 16 assists.

Heidy Benitez and Sowles led the team in digs with 12 and 11 respectively.

MCLA was led by Alyssa Keegan's 7 kills.  She added a match best 15 digs to complete her own double double.  Kelsey and Sara LaFreniere each ended with 5 kills.  MCLA was hampered by 22 attack errors on the night.

Tessa Sestito collected 14 assists while Sara LaFreniere ended with 10 digs.

The Trailblazers are off until next Wednesday when they host Sage at 6pm.
