Volleyball splits pair at Plymouth

Plymouth, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matchups this afternoon.  The Trailblazers handed the Castleton University Spartans a 3-0 defeat in the opener.  Plymouth State would defeat MCLA by the same 3-0 score in the nightcap. 

MCLA is now 17-9 on the season.

MCLA defeats Castleton 3-0

In the opener, the Trailblazers cruised past the Spartans.  MCLA took the match by set scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-23.

Kelly Moczulski collected 14 kills while teammate Madison Jayne earned 10 in the win.  Natasha Stewart set up the offense with 24 assists.  Stewart and Houa Xiong collected 9 digs apiece for MCLA.

Madison Hamelink had 10 kills for Castleton.

MCLA drops 3-0 tilt to Plymouth State

The Panthers took the match by scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-19. 

Tessa Sestito collected 23 assists for the Trailblazers to lead the offense.  Ahna Schlaefer notched 7 kills to lead the team while Reagan Scattergood and Moczulski each had 5.

Plymouth's Francie Shaffer ended with a match best 14 kills.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday night when they take on Cobleskill at home.
