Givhans Selected as NCBWA National Hitter of the Week, Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Following his selection earlier this week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Week, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) senior outfielder has been selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) Hitter of the Week and been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.
Givhans slashed .667/.789/1.750 on the week, going 8-for-12 at the dish with nine RBI, six walks, six runs scored, four home runs, three stolen bases, and a double in four games for the Trailblazers. He went 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, two RBI, two walks, and two stolen bases in a 5-4 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy and went 4-for-4 with five RBI, four runs scored, two home runs, and a walk in a game against Framingham State University.
Givhans and the Trailblazers are back in action tomorrow as MCLA welcomes MASCAC rival Fitchburg State for the back end of a three-game set that will conclude with a doubleheader against the Falcons at Joe Wolfe Field Saturday beginning at 3:30pm.
