Trailblazer men's basketball goes cold in second half, fall to Ephs 89-62

Williamstown, MA- Williams' Cole Prowitt-Smith scored a game high 22 points to lead the Ephs past the MCLA Trailblazers 89-62 this evening in Chandler Gymnasium.  The Ephs remain unbeaten this season as they improve to 4-0.  MCLA is now 2-5 heading into the short Thanksgiving break.

In the first half, Williams only trailed early but could not separate from MCLA.  Both teams shot really well from the floor in the opening half with the Ephs knocking down shots at a 56% clip while MCLA was just behind them at 50%.  Williams' Prowitt-Smith and Spencer Spivy were a handful over the opening twenty minutes as the duo combined for 25 points.  The Ephs would lead 45-33 after one half of play.

Williams cranked up the pressure in the second half holding MCLA to just 35% shooting as they quickly began to pull away.  Williams would not be denied on the offensive end of play shooting 53% in the second half.

MCLA never threatened over the closing half of play.

Prowitt-Smith was 9-13 from the floor including a 3-7 performance from three point land.  Spivy was 4-6 shooting but all his makes were from beyond the arc.  Brandon Roughley came off the bench to scored 15 points for the Ephs.

MCLA was led by first year JoJo Garcia.  He scored a season best 15 points on a perfect 6-6 shooting night.  Quentin Gittens tallied 14 points while Hayden Bird added 11 points.

The Trailblazers continue their early season play after the holiday on Tuesday night.  They'll travel to Sage on Tuesday night.
