2023 VTSU Badger Invitational Team Results
STOWE, Vermont- The MCLA Golf team kicked off their 2023 schedule today at the VTSU Badger Invitational hosted by Vermont State University-Johnson at the Stowe Country Club.
The Trailblazers finished 5th in the team competition which was won by Gordon College with a total score of 308 besting second place finisher SUNY Canton by 10 strokes.
Gordon's Mario Mateo edged out teammate Owen Ingram and SUNY Canton's Adam Szlamczynski to take the individual title by a single stoke shooting an impressive 73.
Matt Gover led MCLA finishing seven strokes off the pace with a score of 80 placing him in a four-way tie for 7th place. MCLA also had strong performances by Alex Ferris who shot an 86 and Paul Roeder (91) and Cody White (92).
MCLA will stay in Vermont to compete in the Norwich Invitational tomorrow at the Montague Golf Club.
