Gover named to MASCAC All-Conference Second Team

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Freshman goaltender Mathew Gover (Atkinson, N.H. / East Coast Wizards) has been named to the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team.

Plymouth State's Will Redick and Kalle Andersson were named the Player of the Year and Defensive of the Year of the year respectively. The Rookie of the Year honor went to UMass-Dartmouth's Collin Patterson. Framingham State's Mike Bailey was named the BSN Coach of the Year.

Gover was honored with his first MASCAC All-Conference Team appointment. He started in 21 of the Trailblazer's 25 games. The freshman from Atkinson, N.H., led the MASCAC with 837 saves, nearly 40% more than the next closest qualifier. His 70 saves in MCLA's game February 3rd game with eventual MASCAC champion, and 15th ranked team in the country, Plymouth State was the highest save total in the country this season.

The highlight of the season for Gover was a stretch from February 1st to the 15th in which the Trailblazers won four of their five games, all against MASCAC opponents and including a pair of OT wins. Gover sported a .945 save percentage during that stretch and 2.57 goals against average.

Joining Gover on the second team were Fitchburg State's Antoine Gignac, Salem State's Erik Larsson, UMass-Dartmouth's Tyler Stewart and Jake Maynard, and Westfield State's Christopher Miraldo.

The first team consisted of Plymouth State's Andersson, Redick, Connor Tait, Rider McCallum, and Donte' Diponio, and UMass-Dartmouth's Michael Perrone.
