Bio

Jeremiah Ketts has been tabbed the new head coach of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts men’s ice hockey program. The team will begin play in 2023-2024 and will be joining the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Ketts comes to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts after spending the previous six season seasons as the top assistant at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Ketts was responsible for running the forwards and individual skill development on and off the ice. Also, he assisted in recruiting, video analysis, and the implementation of system strategies. During his tenure, Ketts helped the program with wins over nationally ranked teams as well as helping the program reach the conference finals in 2018 and 2020.

Ketts has helped recruit and coach over ten All-Conference players, AHCA All-American, MASCAC Player of the year, and two semi-finalist for the Concanon Award. Additionally, he has assisted in eight previous players signing professional contracts. Academically he has helped five players become AHCA All-American Scholars and last year helped seventeen students achieve the All-Academic Team.

Ketts attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I. from 2008-2012 and is one of the most accomplished players in the schools’ history with 64 goals and 101 assists for 165 career points. In his sophomore season at JWU he helped the Wildcats reach the ECAC Northeast final for the first time in school history. A two-time AHCA All-American, making the Second Team as a junior in 2011 and the First Team as a senior in 2012. Both season he was tabbed the ECAC Northeast Player of the Year. In these two seasons Ketts led the entire nation in each category at the end of the year: Goals, Assist, and Points.

In 2012, Ketts was named the Concanon Award winner, bestowed annually to the best American-born Division II/III hockey player in New England. He led the nation in both points and assists as a junior and senior, earning New England Hockey Writers First Team All-New England accolades.

A native of Foristell, Mo., Ketts enjoyed a professional career for several years following his four-year stint at JWU. He signed as a senior with the Reading Royals of the ECHL who were at the time an affiliate with the Boston Bruins. Additionally he spent time with the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL, the Pensacola Ice Flyers and Peoria Rivermen of the SPHL.

Ketts has assisted in helping run various skills camps and clinics throughout the U.S. along with being a District Evaluator for USA Hockey.
