Men's Lacrosse downed by Canton

North Adams, MA-- SUNY Canton's Hunter Olsen and Alex Jacobs each scored six goals to lead the visiting Roo's past the MCLA Trailblazers 23-5 in men's lacrosse action.  Canton evens their overall mark at 5-5 and more importantly stand at 3-1 in the NAC.  MCLA dips to 1-8 on the season and are 0-4 in the NAC.

Canton took hold of this one quickly as they jumped ahead 5-0 ten minutes into the game.  Olsen scored twice in the spurt and Jacobs added his first of the afternoon.  MCLA's Sam Edge stemmed the tide early on with a pretty goal assisted by Brad Dowd to cut the deficit to 5-1.  Canton would score the final three goals of the quarter and take an 8-1 lead after one period of play.

SUNY extended the lead to 11-1 in the second frame as Caeden Goodnough scored back to back goals in the run.  MCLA's Tom Irwin scored a man up goal to get within 11-2, however Canton added two more goals before halftime to take a commanding 13-2 lead.

MCLA couldn't generate enough chances in the second half to make a game of it and the Roo's pulled away.

Olsen ended with 14 points as he tallied 8 assists on the afternoon as well.  Noah Robinson ended with 3 goals and 2 assists off the bench for Canton.

Sam Servati earned the win in goal stopping 15 shots.

MCLA was paced by Nathan Haley's goal and an assist.  Boden Dock notched 19 saves on the afternoon.

Canton outshot MCLA 55-30 in the win.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Wednesday when they challenge Cobleskill at Shewcraft Field.
