Men's Lacrosse falls to Husson in NAC action

Bangor, ME-- The host Husson Eagles recieved a four goal, two assist performance from Jaden Wells as they defeated the MCLA Trailblazers 16-10 this afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.  Husson is now 5-10 overall and sits at 2-4 in the NAC.  The Trailblazers are 2-9 overall and 1-5 in league play.

The Trailblazers got off to a flying start in Maine.  MCLA's Matthew Wallace converted just 36 seconds into the game and then Nathan Haley tallied twice over the next two minutes to give MCLA an early 3-0 lead.  Husson rebounded with an 8-0 run that covered the end of the first quarter and spilled into the second.

Wells began the run with a goal off an assist from Sean Lyne.  Husson's Darryn Bailey scored back to back goals to tie things up at 3-3 and when Gunner McAllister converted, the Eagles led 4-3 after one quarter of play.

McAllister added two more goals to close the run and Husson held an 8-3 lead late in the second quarter.  Haley brought MCLA to within 8-4 with his third goal of the half.  The score remained that way at the half.

Husson would outcore MCLA 5-2 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 13-6.  Wells added two more goals to his count while Haley and John Hankel scored for MCLA.

MCLA would get no closer than the final margin in the fourth quarter as Husson held serve to earn the win.

Haley's six goals came off 16 shots for the Trailblazers.  No other Trailblazer recorded more than one goal.  MCLA's Boden Dock started in goal for MCLA.  He stopped 14 shots in defeat.

McAllister led Husson with five goals to compliment Wells' offense.  Bailey ended with three goals.  Husson's Bryan Wagg earned the win in goal and stopped 8 shots.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they head to NVU-Lyndon for a 3:30pm start.
