Haley's eight goal performance leads Men's Lacrosse to 15-9 win over Thomas in season finale

North Adams, MA-- MCLA's Nathan Haley scored eight goals for the second straight contest as he led the Trailblazer Men's Lacrosse team to a 15-9 win over Thomas this afternoon at Shewcraft Field.  The match was the season finale for the Trailblazers as they end the campaign with a mark of 4-9 overall and 3-5 in the conference.  Thomas ends their season at 2-10 and 2-6.

Haley was coming off an eight goal performance just 48 hours ago at Lyndon.  It took him awhile to get started this afternoon, but once he got going the Terriers had no answer.

A low scoring first quarter saw MCLA hold a 2-1 lead when John Hankel and Tom Irwin tallied in the final two minutes.  In the second quarter, Matthew Wallace converted before Haley finally got on the board to increase the margin to 4-1.  Thomas would add a power play goal to get within 4-2, but MCLA answered with five straight goals to end the quarter and take a 9-2 lead into halftime.  Haley added two more markers in the run.

Thomas climbed to within 10-5 in the third quarter but Haley would score three straight goals for the Trailblazers to take command and lead 13-5 heading to the final quarter.  Thomas would outscore MCLA 4-2 in the fourth quarter, however the Trailblazers comfortably cruised home to grab the win.

Haley took 18 shots on the afternoon and added 4 groundballs and caused turnovers.  Wallace, Hankel, and Johnny Hebert each added two goals.  Nate Allen paced all players with 11 groundballs in the win.

Boden Dock earned his third win in goal collecting 16 saves along the way.

Thomas was paced by Matthew Crisco's three goal performance.  Max Irons added two for the Terriers.

Prior to the start of the game, MCLA honored their three seniors.  Playing their final home games this afternoon were Tom Irwin, Sam Edge, and Micah Tassone.
