Bean sparks second half rally as Men's Soccer sprints past Worcester 2-1

North Adams, MA-- MCLA first year Cola Bean scored twice in the second half as the Trailblazer Men's Soccer team rallied past Worcester State 2-1 in the MASCAC opener for both teams.  MCLA earns their first win of the season and is 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Worcester State falls to 0-4-1 overall and is 0-1 in the conference.

The Lancers scored first as Santino Romeo connected in the 17th minute of play to give the hosts an early 1-0 advantage.  Neither team mustered up much offense in the opening half of play as the Lancers held just a 6-2 shot advantage.

In the second half, MCLA rallied led by Bean.  In the 55th minute, Bean would collect a pass from David Jamina and knock it home to tie things up at 1-1.  Just three minutes later, Bean would strike for the game winner.  His unassisted tally in the 58th minute gave MCLA a 2-1 edge.

Trailblazer keeper Sam Edge would make it stand up as the Lancers couldn't get one past him in the final 30 minutes to earn his first win of the season.

Worcester ended the match with a 16-10 shot edge while corners were also in their favor at 10-7.

Edge would make 4 saves in the contest to pull out the win.

MCLA has a short turnaround as they return to Shewcraft Field tomorrow at noon to take on Husson.
