Men's Soccer blanked by Rams 1-0 in MASCAC action

Framingham, MA- Framingham State's Ibrahim Kyeyune scored the lone goal on a penalty kick in the 49th minute to lift the Rams past the visiting MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 this evening in a key MASCAC matchup.  The Rams improve to 3-1 in the conference and are 3-10 overall.  MCLA dips to 3-6-1 overall and is now 2-2 in the league.

After a scoreless first half in which the Rams outshot MCLA 10-1 they finally broke through in the early stages of the second.  Framingham earned a corner kick and after a MCLA foul in the box, Kyeyune would convert to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.  MCLA would play much better in the second half, but couldn't solve the Ram defense.

As the closing minutes winded down, MCLA frantically tried to find the equalizer.  Their best chance came in the closing seconds of play.  The MCLA back line pushed the ball forward and Trailblazer Cola Bean got just behind the defense.  He would try and flip the ball past the Framingham keeper, but his attempt went just wide and the Rams watched as time ran out.

After easily outpacing MCLA in the opening half, the Rams outshot MCLA just 6-5 in the second half of play.

Sam Edge absorbed the loss for MCLA stopping four shots.  Ram keeper James Hartshorn stopped the only shot he saw in the second half of play.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Albany College of Pharmacy for a non league matchup.  Game time is set for 4pm.
