Women's Basketball falls in home opener 59-30 to Keene State

North Adams, MA- The visiting Keene State women's basketball team jumped out to a commanding first quarter lead and then cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 59-30 this evening in non conference action.  The Owls improve to 3-2 on the season while MCLA drops to 0-4 overall.

Keene jumped out to a 22-4 lead after one quarter of play and eventually led by as many as 26 in the first half before settling on a 34-11 lead at halftime.  The visitors extended the margin in the second half as MCLA struggled to mount any offense as they were held to 20% shooting from the floor.

The Owls were led by Samantha Lee's 13 point night off the bench.  Kenzie Durnford chipped in with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  In all, ten Owls found their way into the scoring column.  Keene owned a commanding 47-26 rebounding advantage and forced MCLA into 24 turnovers.

The Trailblazers were led by Emily Burke's 10 point effort.  Hannah Mazzeo collected 11 rebound on the night while Emma O'Keefe came off the bench to score 6 points.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they head to Utica.
