Women's Basketball upended at Utica

Utica, NY- The Utica women's basketball team clamped down on the MCLA Trailblazers this afternoon en route to a convincing 88-35 win in non-league play.  The Pioneers improve to 4-0 on the season while MCLA falls to 0-5.

Utica placed five players in double figures led by Sydney Przgoda's game high 15 point night.  She added 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the win.  Petrina DeMarco and Hannah Stack added 12 points apiece while Krissy Geraci chipped in with 11.

MCLA hung with the Pioneers and trailed just 14-13 after one quarter of play.  Utica would turn it up though in the second quarter as they outscored MCLA 35-8.  The defense led to offense and the Pioneers now led 49-21 at halftime.  In the second half, Utica extended the lead and cruised home the rest of the way.

Hannah Mazzeo led MCLA with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Emily Burke chipped in with 10 in the loss.

MCLA could not recover from a 23% shooting night.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Cobleskill for a 6pm tilt.
