FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The MCLA Women's Basketball team went on the road for the last time this season, heading east to Framingham State for a MASCAC game at the FSU Athletic & Recreation Center. Maddie Teta dished out a career-high eight assists, but a trio of Rams scored in double figures to down the Trailblazers 75-30.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Framingham State built an early lead on the strength of 13 points from Flannery O'Connor in the first quarter alone. MCLA was held to 25% shooting, committed 11 turnovers in the opening frame, and dug themselves a 27-4 hole to dig out of. The task was too much for the Trailblazers, with the deficit growing to 39 points at the half.
  • MCLA managed to hold serve in the third period, with the teams playing even for the single frame. Despite scoring a game-high 13 points in the fourth quarter, the Rams still added to their lead and finished the game ahead 75-30.
  • Senior Maddie Teta set a new career-high with eight assists, topping her previous high of seven set at Westfield State on January 30, 2022. She also contributed four points, a steal, and a rebound.
  • Hailey Peabody and Eva Eberwein tied for the team lead with eight points apiece. Peabody also added five rebounds and a steal.
  • Zaylee Ramos pulled down eight rebounds and scored seven points.
  • Framingham State's O'Connor led all scorers with a game-high 21 points to go with 12 rebounds. Kelsey Yelle and Abigail Martin each scored 11 points to round out the Rams' trio of double-digit scorers.

On Saturday, MCLA will be back in action when they play host to Worcester State for a MASCAC matchup with the Lancers at the Amsler Campus Center Gymnasium. The teams will take the floor for a noon tip-off.
