MCLA soccer falls 4-0 to Utica

North Adams, MA—Utica's Sydney Cook scored a pair of goals in leading the Pioneers past the MCLA Trailblazers 4-0 this evening in non-conference action.  The Pioneers improve to 2-0 on the season while the Trailblazers drop to 0-2.

The visitors came out strong but struggled to get one past MCLA starting keeper Mady Breese.  Finally in the 28th minute Utica's Ro Hernandez would convert a pass from Jenna Keeman to give the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage.

Utica would extend the margin in the 36th minute when Cook tallied her first marker of the night.  She would get a nice through pass from Hope Millets and when her shot found the back of the net it was 2-0.  The game would head to halftime without any further change.

In the second half, Utica kept up the offensive pressure and would extend in the 57th minute.  Cook once again was the catalyst as her second goal made it 3-0.  Eliza Ericson was credited with the assist.

Utica would cap the scoring in the 79th minute when Katherine Migliori knocked home a pass from Kiersten Girard.

The Pioneers outshot MCLA 39-4.  They were also efficient as 25 of their shots were on goal.
