Bresett scores lone goal as Trailblazers fall 3-1 to ACPHS

North Adams, MA-- The visiting Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences scored twice in the second half to pull away from MCLA and come away with a 3-1 non conference victory.  ACPHS improves to 6-0 with the win while the Trailblazers fall to 0-6.

MCLA opened the scoring in the 15th minute.  After a Panther foul, MCLA's Sarah Tomczyk took the direct kick from about 40 yards out.  She sent the ball into the box and the Panther keeper was shielded by her own defender.  As the ball approached the net, MCLA's Claudia Bresett would tap it home just before the goal line for her first goal of the season.  It gave MCLA a short lived 1-0 advantage.

Albany came right back just 1:38 later.  After pressuring the MCLA defense, the Trailblazers tried to clear the ball, but on the attempt the ball caromed into the net for an own goal tying things up at 1-1.  It would stay that way until halftime.

In the second half, ACPHS pulled away.  In the 63rd minute of action, Emily D'Abrosca would convert to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.  MCLA would create some chances, but ultimately in the 74th minute, the Panthers would give themselves a cushion.

Julia Roemer would take a feed from D'Abrosca and knock it home to make it 3-1.  The Trailblazers couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Albany held a slim 17-14 shot advantage but MCLA held an 8-3 mark in corners.

The Trailblazers continue conference play on Saturday when they head to Westfield State.
