Soccer falters late in 2-1 setback to Framingham State

North Adams, MA- The visiting Framingham State women's soccer team scored twice in the games final 13 minutes to overcome a deficit and prevail over MCLA 2-1 in MASCAC action at Shewcraft Field.  FSU's Jasmine Lees connected on the game winner with just 3:48 left to play.

The Rams improve to 4-8-1 overall and even their conference mark at 2-2.  MCLA slides to 0-9-1 overall and is 0-3-1 in the conference.

A scoreless first half saw the Rams hold a 16-4 edge in shots, however Trailblazer keeper Jillian Currier kept the game at 0-0.

Early in the second half, MCLA capitalized on a loose ball.  Claudia Bresett got her foot on it and knocked it past Ram goalkeeper Jetta Oskirko to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.  It was Bresett's second goal of the season.  The game would remain in MCLA's favor until the Rams finally solved Currier in the 77th minute.

Megan Ethier found Calen Frongillo who slid it past Currier to tie things up at 1-1.  It was Frongillo's third goal of the season.  The marker seemed to startle MCLA as the Rams kept the pressure up.

Finally, in the 86th minute, Lees would convert off a nice pass from Camryn O'Leary to give the Rams their first lead at 2-1.  Over the final three minutes, MCLA would not threaten and Framingham would get the win.

Oskirko stopped four shots to earn her fourth win of the season.  The Rams would go on to outshoot MCLA 30-10.

Currier collected 12 saves in goal for MCLA.

The Trailblazers are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Fitchburg State to continue conference play.
