Volleyball earns MASCAC win 3-0 against Mass. Maritime, falls to Trinity in nightcap

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Chloie Garber collected 14 kills and 16 digs to lead the Trailblazer volleyball team past visiting Mass. Maritime 3-0 in MASCAC action this afternoon.  The Trailblazers pick up their first conference win (1-1) as they improve to 5-3 overall.  MMA dips to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in the league.

The Trailblazers fell to Trinity (CT) in the nightcap 3-0.

MCLA vs. MMA

MCLA took the opening set in easy fashion 25-14.  The Buccaneers would give them all they could handle in the second set, but eventually MCLA pulled out a 25-23 set win.  They would close out the match on the heels of a 25-18 win in the third.

Garber had a productive day with her 14 kills on 39 attacks.  She was the only Trailblazers in double figures.  Natasha Stewart added 35 assists to fuel the offense.  Kelly Moczulski and Reagan Scattergood each ended with 8 kills.

MMA was paced by Ameena Freeman's team best 6 kills and 16 digs.

MCLA vs. Trinity

Lola Craig notched 11 kills to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams past the Trailblazers 3-0 this afternoon in non league action.  The Bantams earned a sweep of the Tri-Match and improve to 6-6.   MCLA dips to 5-4 on the season.

Trinity took the sets by scores of 25-17, 25-20, and 25-18 to earn the win.

Craig led the offense with her 11 kills on 32 attacks.  Eva Lekovic came off the bench to add 9 kills on just 17 attacks.  Grace Sullivan dished out 15 assists while Locke Luhnow added 14.

MCLA was paced by Garber and Moczulski who each ended with 11 kills in the match.  Scattergood added 8 in defeat.  Natasha Stewart collected a match best 32 assists on the afternoon.  

Trinity was helped by 10 service aces in the match.

MCLA is off until Wednesday night when they continue MASCAC play at Fitchburg State.
