Volleyball snaps three game slide with 3-2 win over Cobleskill

Cobleskill, NY- The MCLA Volleyball team had four players collect double doubles as they snapped a three game skid with a hard fought 3-2 win over Cobleskill this evening on the road.  The Trailblazers even their overall mark at 10-10 as they set their sights on a key matchup with Bridgewater State on Saturday to close the regular season.

Cobleskill is now 9-13 on the season.

MCLA took the opening set 25-21, but the hosts stormed back to take the second 25-23 to tie things up at 1-1.  The Trailblazers would pick up the third set 25-21 but the Fighting Tigers would force a fifth set on the heels of a 25-22 win in set four.

The Trailblazers never trailed in the fifth set and ultimately put away Cobleskill 15-11.  Chloie Garber earned the match winning kill.

MCLA filled the stat sheet as Garber led the team with 17 kills.  Reagan Scattergood ended with 14 and Kelly Moczulski chipped in with 11.  All three reached double figure digs led by Scattergood's 25.   Moczulski ended with 15 digs and added 7 aces in the win.

Natasha Stewart had her own double double dishing out 36 assists and 11 digs.  Ellie Walter-Goodspeed finished with 25 digs of her own.

Cobleskill's Mackenzie Larson finished with a match best 19 kills.  She added 17 digs.  Maleigha Ellithorpe finished with 39 assists and 13 digs.

MCLA will wrap up the regular season on Saturday with a key 5pm MASCAC tilt at Bridgewater State.  The two teams are locked in to the MASCAC tournament next week with the winner hosting the other in the opening round of play.
