Scattergood leads MCLA Volleyball to 3-1 win over Bears, Trailblazers will host BSU Tuesday night

Bridgewater, MA- MCLA's Reagan Scattergood collected 15 kills and added 11 digs to lead the Trailblazers to a 3-1 win over the Bridgewater State Volleyball program this evening in the Tinsley Center.  The win for MCLA (11-11, 4-3 MASCAC) earns the Trailblazers the #4 seed in next week's conference tournament.  MCLA will host the Bears, who will be the fifth seed, on Tuesday at 6pm in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.

Bridgewater State ends the regular season at 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the MASCAC.

The two teams traded sets to open the match with MCLA winning the first 25-21 before the Bears took the second by the identical score.  MCLA would take command with a resounding 25-15 win in the third and then they would close out BSU by rallying with a 25-22 win in the fourth and final set.

Scattergood was outstanding finishing with 15 kills on 31 attacks (.323%).  She chipped in two assists and an ace as well.  Chloie Garber had a nice night with 10 kills and 11 digs of her own.  Natasha Stewart ended with 30 assists and 13 digs.  She is now just 11 shy of 1,000 digs in her career.

Ellie Walter-Goodspeed aided on defense with 14 digs.

For the Bears, Becca Whalen finished with 9 kills while Abigail Reardon ended with 8.  Savannah Quintal finished with 16 assists.

The two teams will square off again in just three days.  The winner will advance to face top seeded Worcester State.
