Fourth seeded MCLA Volleyball will start playoff run by hosting #5 Bridgewater State Tuesday at 6pm

North Adams, MA- On the heels of Saturday's win, the MCLA Volleyball program has earned the #4 seed in this week's MASCAC Championship Tournament.  The Trailblazers will host the #5 seed, the Bridgewater State University Bears, Tuesday night at 6pm.  The two teams met just two days ago in Bridgewater with MCLA pulling out a 3-1 victory over the Bears.

Worcester State has earned the #1 seed after going a perfect 7-0 in conference play.  Westfield State also earned a bye as the #2 seed.  The other quarterfinal matchup tomorrow will pit #3 Framingham State hosting #6 Salem State.  The two quarterfinal winners advance to the semifinal round on Thursday night.  The winner of the MCLA/BSU match will head to Worcester State.

The Trailblazers earned the right to host due to their victory over the Bears on Saturday.  MCLA took the match by set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-15, and 25-22.

MCLA has been led offensively all season long by the trio of Reagan Scattergood, Chloie Garber, and Kelly Moczulski.  Garber ranks first in kills per set while Scattergood and Moczulski are third and fourth respectively.  Garber leads the conference with 312 total kills this season.  In the win over the Bears, Scattergood put together one of her best performances of the season with 15 kills and 11 digs.

Natasha Stewart has had an outstanding season as the primary setter.  She leads the conference with 785 assists on the season.  Stewart has also made an impact on defense as she is nearing her 1,000th career dig as a Trailblazer.

MCLA will enter the playoffs riding a modest two match winning streak.  The Trailblazers have defeated Cobleskill and the Bears in their last two outings.  Bridgewater State has lost their last four matches.
