North Adams, MA- MCLA senior Tyler Benoit has been named the MASCAC player of the week following his impressive showing during their recent trip to Florida as announced by the league offices this morning.  The honor marks the first for Benoit in a Trailblazer uniform.

The first basemen batted an impressive 10-15 (.666) with six runs scored and driving in seven runs.  He drew four walks and had an impressive .867 slugging percentage in the 4-2 week for MCLA.  In a sweep of Colby Sawyer, he went 6-6 with a double, three runs scored, and four RBI. 

Benoit and the Trailblazers will open MASCAC play against defending regular season champion Salem State on Saturday afternoon.  Time and location are still to be determined.
