Nolan tabbed as MASCAC Rookie of the Week
North Adams, MA- MCLA right hander Liam Nolan was selected as the MASCAC Co-Rookie of the Week following his victory over Fitchburg State on Sunday afternoon as announced by the league offices this morning. Nolan was joined by Jordan Pallazola of Framingham State as top rookie performers on the week.
The MASCAC also awared Billy Derosier, also of Framingham, as the player of the week, while Sean Buckland (Salem State) and Kyle Kennedy (MMA) shared pitching honors.
Nolan earned MCLA's first MASCAC victory by tossing three scoreless innings and recording five strikeouts against the Falcons. He pitched out of two jams, including one in the bottom of the ninth with 2nd and 3rd and nobody out.
The freshman from Pittsfield, MA. has come into his own out of the bullpen logging a save and a win in three relief appearances to date, allowing just one run.
Nolan and the Trailblazers will travel to MASCAC rival Westfield State on Tuesday for a 2pm doubleheader.
