Nolan named MASCAC player of the week in Baseball

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA sophomore Liam Nolan was tabbed as the MASCAC player of the week after batting .400 during the final six games of the Florida swing.  Westfield State's Nick Cunningham was named Pitcher of the Week, while Brian Kwedor of MMA was the conference's selection as rookie of the week.

Nolan began the week with a bang coming up a double short of the cycle in a 14-5 rout over Becker.  He drove in 7 runs in the win, including his first collegiate home run, a three run shot in the third inning.  Nolan would hit safely in all six games including another pair of hits in a setback to Colby Sawyer.

On the week, Nolan scored six times, had 11 RBI, and an impressive slugging percentage of .650.  He currently leads the team in RBI and ranks near the top in batting average.

Nolan and the Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Eastern Nazarene for a 1pm start.
