Williamstown, MA- Williams College center fielder Adam Regensburg went 3-4 with three RBI in leading the Ephs to a convincing 14-4 win over local foe MCLA this afternoon at Bobby Coombs field. With the win, Williams improves to 12-7 while the Trailblazers drop to 9-12.
Williams started fast scoring three runs in each of the first three frames as they led 9-1. Regensburg had an RBI single in the first inning and added another in the second to highlight the offense. The Ephs would chase MCLA starter Brody Farnum in the third inning to take control.
MCLA mounted a brief rally tallying three times in the fourth inning to close within 9-4. Joe Dimassimo doubled home Christian Seariac for the first run while Nick DiSanti drove in another. DiSanti would come around on a wild pitch to round out the scoring.
Williams quieted the rally by scratching a run across in the bottom of the fourth and then salted the game away with a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Trailblazers would not threaten from there as the Ephs cruised home.
Seariac was the lone Trailblazer with two hits on the afternoon. Farnum absorbed the loss going the first two innings.
Williams pounded out 14 hits on the afternoon. Aside from Regensburg, Jackson Parese, Kellen Hathaway, and Alex Panstares each had two hits. Parese and Hathaway each scored three times as did Cyrus Beschloss.
Tyler Duff earned the win for the Ephs going the first five innings.
MCLA is off until Saturday when they head to Bridgewater State for a 1pm twinbill.
