Greenberg Receives Top Honor, Trailblazers Announce Team Awards
North Adams, MA- MCLA senior basketball player Jon Greenberg earned the top male honor of the night, the Louis Parisien Award, as the Athletics department held their annual banquet last evening in the James T. Amsler Campus Center Gym.
Greenberg was a repeat winner from a year ago. The award is given annually to the top Male who demonstrates excellence in the classroom and on the playing fields. Greenberg finished his career by leading the Trailblazers Men's Basketball team to their first ever ECAC tournament bid and victory as they reached the semi-final round. Greenberg joined Dick Syriac (68') and Bernard Alexander (90') as the only players in school history to score over 1,000 points and have 1,000 rebounds in their career.

The Trailblazers Kris McLaughlin was also honored when he was awarded the 1st annual Director's Award. The Director's award is given by the Athletic Director to one male and one female for their overall contributions.
Kris was a three-year member of the Men's Basketball Program and appeared in twenty-two games this season. McLaughlin was a key component of a strong second-unit for the 2010-11 Trailblazers.
This past year Kris was a student-coach for the MCLA Baseball team, an Intramurals Supervisor and the Co-President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In 2010 Kris was selected to represent the college at the NCAA National Leadership Conference.

6th Star Award is voted on by the players and awarded to the person who exceeded expectations this season.
Trailblazer Award is voted on by the players and is awarded to the person who is the toughest and most willing to sacrifice for his teammates.
Cassels-Thompson award is a new award given by the coaching staff to the player who shows unparalleled dedication and passion for his team and the game of basketball. The award is a special award that will not be awarded annually, but instead only when warranted. This award was named after two seniors Marvin Thompson and Chris Cassels for their dedication over the past four seasons.
The Trailblazers are also happy to announce that they placed six members on the All-Academic team awarded by the MASCAC. That is the most members of any men's basketball team in the MASCAC this season. Those members are:
