MCLA wins big at ACP, evens record at 2-2

Albany, NY- The MCLA Men's basketball team exploded for a 102-61 road win at Albany College of Pharmacy Tuesday night.  The win evened the Trailblazers record at 2-2.  Jamal Brown and Tyrell Mosley each had season highs with 17 points apiece.

ACP actually jumped out to a quick 11-3 lead in the opening minutes before MCLA took control. The Trailblazers subbed in Mosley, Brown, Tyriq Rochester, Kris McLaughlin and Bilal Shabazz 2:45 into the game and the bench ignited a 21-3 run to pull ahead by ten with just under 13 minutes to play in the opening half.  Brown and Mosley spearheaded the run as MCLA would run to a commanding 58-34 halftime lead.

ACP never threatened the rest of the way as MCLA would lead by as many as 36 midway through the second half and cruise to the win.

MCLA's Jon Greenberg collected his third straight double double with a team high 18 points and 10 rebounds in only 18 minutes of action; in fact no Trailblazer played more than 20 minutes.

Brendan Kordana chipped in with 12 and Tim Fish added 7 points off the bench in the second half on 3-3 shooting from the field.

MCLA will host the Tri-State Shootout on Friday and Saturday.  Competing in the tournament will be RPI, Southern Vermont, and St. Joseph's (VT).  On Friday, RPI and Southern Vermont will play at 6pm, while MCLA entertains St. Joseph's at 8pm.  The consolation game is set for Saturday at 1:30, while the championship game is at 3:30.
