MCLA Men drop season opener to Dickinson 91-55

Middletown, CT- The MCLA Men's Basketball team gave up 57 second half points as Dickinson College rolled to a 91-55 victory over the Trailblazers in the season opener for both teams.  Dickinson will move on to play Wesleyan tomorrow in the championship round, while MCLA will battle Coast Guard.

MCLA trailed from the onset, but ultimately got within 34-28 at halftime.  Dickinson left little doubt scoring the first nine points out of the locker room to open up a 43-28 lead.  The Trailblazers never seriously threatened in the second half as Dickinson led by a comfortable margin.

John Jones led MCLA with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Todd Hunt added 12 points in the loss.  MCLA shot just 31% on the night from the floor.

Dickinson placed four players in double figures led by Adam Honig's game high 22 point effort.  Gerry Wixted finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds.  Steve Collins added 13 points while Tucker Landy had 10.

Dickinson shot a sizzling 68% in the second half and 54% for the contest.
