Men's Basketball goes cold in loss to Worcester State

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State men's basketball team placed three players in double figures led by Aaron Anniballi's team high 15 as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 80-54 in MASCAC action this afternoon.  The Lancers improve to 6-13 overall and are now 4-3 in the MASCAC.

MCLA drops their ninth straight as they are now 2-16 on the season and 0-7 in league play.

The Lancers led 47-35 at halftime after leading by double digits for most of the half.  Corey Gatta had 14 first half points for WSU to help build that lead.  The Lancers then scored the first six points of the second half to break the game wide open and lead 53-35.

The lead would never get below 14 points in the second half and eventually led by as many as 28 points.

Aaron Anniballi paced the Lancers with 15 points, including 11 in the opening half.  Cal Howes came off the bench to score 11 points.  The Lancer bench outscored MCLA 28-11 while WSU also held a 54-32 edge off the glass leading to a 21-7 edge in second chance points. 

MCLA was led by Keiland Cross' team high 12 points, all of which came in the first half of play.  Joe Wiggins and Nolan Bird each ended with 10 points for the Trailblazers.

The Worcester State defense held MCLA to just 29% shooting on the afternoon.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Westfield State.
