Yearsley caps off solid performances with MASCAC rookie of the week honors

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year forward Noah Yearsley has been tabbed as the MASCAC rookie of the week as announced by the league offices this afternoon.  The honor marks the first of the season for Yearsley, however it is back to back awards for the men's basketball program.  Yearsley joins teammate Mike Demartinis as recipients.  Demartinis took the honor last week.  

Joseph Carty of Bridgewater State University was selected as the conference's player of the week.

Yearsley has started every game thus far in a Trailblazer uniform.  The lanky forward has quickly transitioned into a scorer as he averaged 20 points and 3.5 rebounds last week against two heavyweights in the Northeast.  Last Tuesday against third ranked Williams College, Yearsley collected 16 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists in a loss to the Ephs.  He would follow that performance up on Saturday with a season best 24 point, 4 rebound, and 2 steal effort against NYU.

Yearsley shot 12-27 from the floor, however that included a 6-13 showing from three point range.  He's canned at least two three pointers in every game to date and is averaging 15.5 points a night for MCLA.

While it's early in the season, Yearsley is currently fifth in the league in scoring and second in 3 point FG made with 11.  

Yearsley and the Trailblazers will look to get back on track on Tuesday night when they continue their homestand with a 7pm non league tilt against Sage.
