Gittens earns MASCAC Player of the Week
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Senior guard Quentin Gittens (Pittsfield, MA / Taconic High School) has been named the MASCAC Player of the Week. Bridgewater State's Zach Taylor (Quincy, MA / North Quincy) was named the Rookie of the Week.
Gittens averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists, 1.5 steals, and shot 53.3 percent (8-15) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Trailblazers. He notched a 26-point, 13-rebound double-double in a 77-60 conference win over Framingham State, including 12-of-13 from the free throw line, and chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 17 minutes of action in an 87-86 win over the Pratt Institute.
Gittens and the Trailblazers are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Worcester for a MASCAC matchup with Worcester State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
