Golf opens season with third place finish at Trailblazer Invitational
Williamstown, MA- The MCLA Golf team opened up the Steve Terpak era this afternoon as they hosted the Trailblazer invitational at Waubeeka Golf Links. Rhode Island College swept both team and individual honors in the four team event.
RIC shot a 310 to claim the victory. Patrick Ford was medalist for RIC with a tournament best two over par 73.
The Anchormen carded four scores at 80 or better to distance themselves from Westfield State who finished second. Following Ford's 73 was Tim Leigh with 77. Ryan Butler shot 79 while Jonathan Cooper chipped in with 80.
After RIC claimed the top four scores, Trailblazers Taylor Dunn and Mitch Mullett were next in fifth and sixth respectively, shooting 82 and 83.
MCLA finished in third place followed by Johnson State.
The Trailblazers will return to the links on Saturday as they compete in the 36 hole Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club.
