Williamstown, MA- The MCLA Men's Golf program wrapped up play in the Williams College invitational on Sunday afternoon at Taconic Golf Club.  The Trailblazers finished 19th at the event.  Mitch Mullett and Nick Young paced MCLA over the weekend.

Rochester Polytechnic Institute (RPI) charged from seven shots back to win the tournament (304-294=598) by two shots. Skidmore College (307-293=600) and Williams College's A team (297-303=600) both played stellar final rounds but finished the day trailing RPI. Due to a tiebreak, which was determined by each team's highest score, Skidmore claimed the runner-up title. Middlebury College (305-299=604) and St. Lawrence (299-309=608) rounded out the top five.

James Jackson of RPI backed up his outstanding first round with a 75 (70-75=145), which was good enough to capture the individual title. Jack Whelan (71-75=146) of St. Lawrence and Tim Manwaring (76-70=146) of Skidmore College tied for second place, missing out on a playoff with Jackson by one shot. Rounding out the top five were Eric Laorr (73-74=147) of Middlebury College, Grant Raffel (70-77=147) of Williams A, and Ross Hoffman (72-75=147) also of Williams A.

Williams will continue to host its fall invitational next year. However, it will swap dates with Middlebury, who will host its Duke Nelson Invitational the weekend preceding conference championship qualifiers.
