Golf wraps up play in NAC Championships, Young finishes ninth

2015 NAC Championships Final Results

Rutland, VT- The MCLA Golf team finished up play this morning in the final round of the 2015 NAC Championships held at Rutland Country Club.  The Trailblazers finished in 6th place in the conference championship.  Husson University won the team competition besting Salem State and earning the automatic bid into the division III NCAA golf championships.

Husson's Greg Martin claimed the individual title by virtue of shooting a 71 on Saturday for a two day total of 144 (+4).  

The Trailblazers actually bested their opening round score by a wide margin as they closed with a 365, or 25 shots better than the first round.  Young played steady all weekend as he followed up an opening 83 with a second round 80 to climb into the top ten.  He finished 9th.

Cooper Gavin and Sam Slocombe tied for 28th with two day totals of 190.

MCLA will wrap up play this fall with the NEIGA championships on Cape Cod in two weeks.
