Gover Sweeps Weekly MASCAC Awards Again
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Matt Gover has won the MASCAC Golf Player and Rookie of the Week for the second straight week after capturing two more individual titles to bring his season total to five.
Gover shot a one-over par 72 to win Westfield State's Brett Williamson Invitational at the Tekoa Country Club on Wednesday and after shooting a career-best 67 (-3) in the opening round of the Castleton Invitational held at the Rutland Country Club over the weekend, cruised to a seven-stroke victory with a 141 (+1) to win his fifth title of the season.
Gover has won four of his last five events and along with the MCLA Golf team will look to keep things rolling this weekend at the MASCAC Championship hosted by Salem State University at the Beverly Golf & Tennis Club.
