Hankel makes 27 saves, but Men’s Lacrosse falls to Mt. St. Vincent, 9-6

Riverdale, NY—The MCLA Men's Lacrosse team fell on the road today to nonconference foe to Mt. St. Vincent, 9-6. With the loss the Trailblazers fall to 2-2 while the Dolphins move to 2-0.

After a scoreless first ten minutes, Mt. St. Vincent's Richie Albert found the back of the net at the 4:44 mark to put the Dolphins up 1-0. The hosts would score twice more to close the quarter and again at the 11:52 mark of the 2nd when Andrew Dzubak made it 4-0.

MCLA would finally get on the board just 14 seconds later when Johnny Hebert found Boden Dock to make it 4-1.

Mt. St. Vincent would add two more, including Albert's 3rd on the day, to head to the locker room up 6-2 at halftime.

Another Dzubak tally would make it 7-2 with just under seven minutes left in the 3rd quarter. The Trailblazers would battle back however as Matthew Wallace would score with two minutes left in the quarter and Anthony Andolina and Dock would make it 7-5 early in the 4th.

An Isaac Parsons tally with 6:36 left gave the Dolphins some breathing room before Dzubeck's 4th goal with under a minute to play put the game away. Nathan Haley would add a goal late for MCLA.

Dzubeck (4 goals, 2 assists) and Albert (3 goals, 2 assists) carried the offensive load for Mt. St. Vincent while Dolphin goalie Sawyer Davis made 12 saves improving to 2-0.

Dock's 2 goals led MCLA. Goalkeeper John Hankel made an impressive 27 saves but took the loss falling to 2-2.

Mt. St. Vincent will next host Sage on Wednesday while MCLA travels to Salem State on Monday for a 6pm faceoff.
