Men’s Lacrosse taken down at SUNY Cobleskill, 10-3

COBLESKILL, New York—The SUNY Cobleskill Men's Lacrosse team scored the first seven goals and went on to defeat MCLA 10-3 today in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. With the win the Fighting Tigers improve to 8-3 (3-3 NAC) while MCLA drops to 5-7 (1-5 NAC).

The first quarter was tightly contested with each team attempting six shots and only a single goal being scored by Cobleskill's Jake Giess with 3:29 left to make it 1-0.

The Fighting Tigers began to assert themselves in the second minimizing MCLA's scoring chances while adding to three goals in both the middle quarters to stretch their lead to 7-0 before Boden Dock's man up goal in the final minute of the third finally put the Trailblazers on the board.

Cobleskill would answer in the first minute of the fourth quarter to make it 8-1 and after Nathan Haley and Dock cut the lead to 8-3, the Fighting Tigers would answer those as well with goals by Sean D'Amaro and Gregory Neumann to give the hosts the 10-3 conference victory.

Sean McMahan and Giess would post hattricks while Neumann scored twice for Cobleskill.

Fighting Tiger goalie John Williams (W, 7-2) made 11 saves in the win while Trailblazer keeper John Hankel (L, 5-7) made 23 stops but took the loss in net for MCLA.

Both teams will continue league play at home on Saturday as Cobleskill takes on Cazenovia at noon and MCLA battles Husson at 10am.
