WESTON, Mass. – The MCLA Lacrosse team returned to action this afternoon with a non-conference matchup at Regis College. The Pride scored seven goals in the first quarter before cruising to an 18-1 victory over the Trailblazers. Five different players for Regis had multi-goal games, including four goals from Jack Jaynes, while a trio of players finished with a hat trick.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Regis College set the tone for the afternoon early, scoring their first goal of the game with less than a minute expired on the clock. Jack Jayne found the back of the cage 57 seconds into the game with an assist from Connor Deveau. The Pride enjoyed a 7-0 advantage at the end of the first period. The lead expanded to 12-0 at the half, and to 17-0 through three quarters.
  • MCLA scored its lone goal with 10:32 left in the fourth quarter. Luke Rhoss scored his seventh goal of the season unassisted.
  • Regis' Devin Hammon stopped all three first-quarter shots he faced to earn the win, improving to 4-1. Ryan Guerrette stopped eight of the nine shots he faced in relief of Hammon, while the Trailblazers' Boden Dock recorded 13 saves but saw his record drop to 0-5.
