MCLA drops MASCAC tilt to Salem 2-0

North Adams, MA- Visiting Salem State University blanked MCLA 2-0 this afternoon in MASCAC Men's Soccer action from Ron Shewcraft Field in North Adams.  With the win, Salem improves to 6-2 overall (2-0 MASCAC) while MCLA falls to 3-4-1 (0-1-1 MASCAC). 

Salem opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Owen Quane tallied his third goal of the season off a Rafael Santos feed to put the Vikings up 1-0.  The lead would last into halftime.

MCLA had a golden opportunity to knot the score in the 61st minute when Liroy Ozinci was taken down in the box.  The foul resulted in a penalty kick opportunity taken by Trailblazer Gary D'Annunzio.  His try hit the crossbar as the Vikings dodged a bullet. 

Salem would pad the lead when Maxime Mondestin put home a ball from Saimir Zepaj.  The insurance goal was more than enough as MCLA didn't threaten the remainder of the contest.

Salem's Scott Hall earned the shutout in net recording one save on the afternoon.  His counterpart, MCLA's Dillon Wager stopped six shots.  Salem outshot MCLA 15-7 on the afternoon.
